PENGGUNAAN MEDIA AUDIOVISUAL DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS PADA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA NEGERI KOTABARU

This study aims to determine how the use of audiovisual media in learning English at SMP Negeri in Kotabaru and to determine the factors that influence the use of the media. There are several methods used to obtain the data needed in this study, namely through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentaries. After the data has been collected, it is processed and interpreted, then the data is presented and analyzed with the data obtained using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of data analysis that students' preference for techniques used by teachers in learning English using audiovisual media is in the high category, students' understanding of teacher explanations in learning using audiovisual media in English subjects, which is in the high category, teacher's ability to help facing student difficulties, in the very high category, the teacher's ability to respond to student questions, in the high category, the situation or condition of the class when learning to use audiovisual media is not calm, the students' interest in English lessons is in the very high category, the students' motivation when learning English by using audiovisual media in the High category, the frequency of English teachers in using audiovisual media when learning English at SMP Negeri in Kotabaru is in the high category of the total time spent.
